Di antara para calon selir yang tinggal di sana, Kou Reirin adalah sosok yang paling menonjol sebagai kandidat sempurna untuk menjadi permaisuri berikutnya. Ia mencoba membunuh Reirin dengan mendorongnya dari balkon. Reirin berhasil diselamatkan dari maut, sementara Keigetsu ditangkap dan dipenjara untuk menunggu eksekusi. Namun, tak ada seorang pun yang mengetahui bahwa Keigetsu telah menggunakan sihir terlarang untuk menukar tubuhnya dengan tubuh Reirin demi merebut semua yang menjadi milik gadis itu. Akan tetapi, Keigetsu justru terjebak dalam tubuh Reirin yang lemah dan rentan penyakit. Sebaliknya, untuk pertama kalinya dalam hidupnya, Reirin dapat merasakan kebebasan dan tubuh yang kuat. Dengan tekad bulat, ia berjanji akan terus hidup, tak peduli wajah siapa yang kini ia kenakan.
